Responce to Get a Date

The film get a date has some visual concept in it with what is happening when the woman is knocking on the door and each time there is something that makes the sound of the knocking not there like the shower running and the cutting of the food. Other thinks that made the film really good was the reuse of previous shot were they shot it once and then used it over and over again but with different voice overs. Some of the scenes like this were the scene of the lady walking up the stairs and down and the one were she was adding the makeup. The split screen with the two doing the same action at the same time with the scene of the them flipping through the news paper. Also the film used ideas from other films like Amelie with the profile shots of the person and the narrator describing what they did for a living and what there interest were. The last thing about the film is how well they people were able to get rid of things that were in the shot so to make the two characters feel alone and to make the audience fell that the characters fell lonely.

Visual Concept Project

I. What is a Visual concept, well it is film that uses visuals like images with out dialogue to show the audience the point. The work by getting the point of the part of the film across without any dialogue with camera motion, blocking, color, lighting, and other things.

II. Points to consider
1. I can show the passage of time by creating scenes with the different seasons, or I could show one person changing over the years, or by having the sun set and then the sun rise.
2. The emotional act that I will examining is not caring which i forgot what term is for it..
3. Certain objects that could trigger memories of not caring could be a broken picture the person didn't care about or a damaged item that they never cared about.
4. The emotion is active at certain times but only when a person doesn't care for something.
5. My visual concept would be abstract.
6. At the closure of the memory it could end with the person caring for what he/she once didn't care for.

III. The emotional moment i would like to explore cinematically would be about a people that didn't care for something and over time began to care for it and eventually cared for it fully.

Response to Independent Script Sample A

1. The writer structures his/her script by first with news footages of Tony Blair and then Jaques Chairac. Then the two narrators are introducing and they talk about the social ties in Britain and France. Then they go into talking about social realism, then goes into talking about it in terms of film history, culture and narrative focus from the French. Then the writer talks about the film history, culture and narrative focus in British films on British social Realism. The ending is on the two narrators telling the viewer what they should do.
2. Most of the visuals the writer used to enhance the is like footage that the writer decriped that were not from the films researched that related to what they were talking about like in the first couple pages like the shots with the people going by and not noticing the narrators and the shot of the Eiffel tower. Other visuals used were clips from the films the writer is using for his/her research like La Haine.
3. The topic the writer researched was how representations of social realism differed in French and British film cultures. What the writer used to research his/her topic were the films the writer research, websites' like Guardian, and SEX, CLASS, AND REALISM, and books kuje Film As Social Practise and Introduction To Communiction Studies.
4. I would give would give it a score of 25 because the script has an excellent understanding of the topic of how representations of social realism differed in French and British film cultures. Also the visual and audio elements are really well detailed in what they will look like and people can image what the scene will look like. Lastly that all the films covered in the scripted are related to the topic because the films have the social realism of the counties they are made based on.

What topic I want to reseach for the Film Project and the thesis for it.

The director I will be researching is George Lucas and i will bee looking at how in the first trilogy of Star Wars he used the Hero mythology. I will be looking at how it is showed in each movie individually and then how it is showed in all three movie together.

Independent Research Sample

1. Jason Structured and discusses his topic on how Power through Lighting and Color in International Cinema by first staring off by showing us how lighting and color can be used and then first talks about the first movie Tsotsi and how it used lighting and color in the film with interviews of the director and with voiceovers by Jason. Then he went into talking about how Sin City used Lighting and color with interviews from the Director of that movie.

2. He used actual clips from the two films and a lightning effect in the beginning and end of the documentary it enhance the V.O. of the narrative.

3. The topic he researched was Power through Lighting and Color in International Cinema, and the resource he used were the two actual films (Sin City and Tsotsi), American Cinematographer, Blunt Review, and Understanding Movies for the research on his topic.

4. After looking at the script and the rubric, I would give the paper a 24 because through out the script he shows great understanding the film topic he had researched and uses good clips from the film to defend his topic. His structure of the script is strong since Jason uses interviews from the directors to defend his topic even more along with his own narration which explain what his topic is about and how the films he looked at use it. Lastly that he uses are related to the topic because the two films lighting and color usage related to what Jason is talking about, like in Sin City how black and white color is used instead of actual color.
